  1. I’ve been wanting to start an herbal garden too, and you have truly inspired me!! Your deck is the perfect spot. I’m going to start one indoors in my kitchen. Beautiful garden and seems so therapeutic!!

  2. Awesome start, Jia! The garden is looking great and you’ve done an amazing job so far. I can’t remember the name of any particular one, but there are apps where you can scan/take a photo of (?) your plants and they can provides answers on what’s going wrong with them and shows the best way to treat them. I’m looking forward to seeing what the deck and your other garden look. Thanks for sharing.

  3. Try some liquid soluble fertilizer for the yellowing to give them a good start and boost. The liquid gives the plants the nutrients immediately. Happy gardening!

  4. I’m planting two zucchini plants and a herb garden this year for the first time! I’m so excited. Hopefully will get them planted in the next few days. Going to redo all my flower beds around my house this year and then I can plant more. Thanks for your gardening info as it makes me more motivated to do this. ❤️

  5. So excited for your garden and I just love watching your channel. You should have kept the strawberry plant as it is a perennial. I am in zone 7a. I am growing yellow squash, zucchini, grey zucchini, the squash grillers, radish, golden green beans, strawberries, pine berries, blueberries, raspberries, potatoes, snap peas, swish chard, yard long noodle beans, tomatoes, parsley, basil, peanuts, celery, garbanzo beans, sweet peppers, chives, yellow lemon cucumbers, white cucumbers, okra, bunching onions, and other varities of green beans. My husband calls the backyard a farm lol. I wish i could send you pictures

  6. The herbs in the blue planter that are yellowing need some fertilizer. Container plants need regular fertilizing because they can’t pull nutrients from the ground.

You need to give the cucumber, tomatoes and squash support to grow vertically. Those are all “ bushy” plants that need lots of space, but vertically growing them will give you a better yield, be more manageable and look nicer.

There are plenty of YouTube videos that can give you guidance on how to do that.

I garden on a much larger scale but still in raised beds. Helping my more spacing hogging plants to grow up has been a game changer in the yield and health of the plants.

Also if you seriously want to grow in planter towers. I’d highly recommend a product called the garden stalk. It’s well made, sturdy and will give you much better options for growing. People grow whole gardens in them. They have the option to be on a spinner with wheels. Makes them easy to move and rotate. Will be more spendy but they have good sales all the time. You can search YouTube for codes. Aesthetically they are also gorgeous. I have 4. I mainly use them for herbs and flowers.

  7. East Tennessee here. We had problems with wood peckers as well. Last year we put a suet feeder out back and they love that stuff. They are constantly out there pecking away at it and they don’t try to eat our house anymore. Lol. Plus we see them now they are really pretty.

  8. I have 4 gardens, a greenhouse and plot at the community garden. I grow most vegetables and herbs for medicinal purposes. Clip down the herbs that has the yellow leaves that will encourage the plant to grow more. The more you prune herbs the more they will produce. For every leaf cut 2 will grow back.

  9. I started gardening during pandemic. I’m growing a lot of the perennial herbs, potatoes, tomatoes, cucumbers, zucchini, eggplant, peppers, Cabbage, radishes, flowers, okra, beans and peas(Zone 7B).
