  1. Thank gawd. Love yourself fully. Ive been with you for years and I’ve wanted this for you. You and your family are amazing. Im debt free and started spending wisely. We are enjoying the fruits of are labor. You are glowing.

    1. It’s a blessing to have the money to buy groceries…despite the prices. That’s what I say…I’m grateful for the money to buy groceries.

  2. I am still paying off debt. I stopped all the “hacks” i set a budget and went all cash for anything that wasnt a bill. i also put off all purchases with at least a two week think about it mindset. its about mental health for me. i am happy with minimal items be it furniture or clothes. i even minimized youtubers i watch. if they are always “sponsored ” i let them go. i want to be in peace not chaos

  3. Jia, I love your vibe..so positive, confident, practical, someone who intentionally puts good energy into the world. Keep being kind to yourself and encouraging others to do the same. ❤

  4. Hey Jia! Gwyneth Paltrow said on a podcast that as a woman, when you turn 40, you get a software upgrade. And that you wake up & you just think and feel like “WOW”, you choose yourself, you dont care what anybody thinks, and you begin to put urself first..

Your video made me think of what Gwyn said. this makes me excited to turn 40! you look great btw!!!!

  5. This is totally me. My husband has made a good living for years now, but I’ve had a hard time changing my mindset to put myself first sometimes. So thank you for the reminder.

  6. I just wanted to say I love you, and I am so glad to have found your channel. I just turned 43 last week, and I have been feeling the same way. Awesome video!

  7. What a great message in this video! Hindsight is 20/20… I spent so much money on stuff, that has now either been trashed or donated because I came to realization that experiences are more valuable than “stuff”…. I’ve decluttered the stuff and will only shop for needs and spend money on experiences to make memories. Time passes so quickly and who knows if tomorrow will come! Love each day to the fullest, you don’t need the designer bags, clothes, gadgets, etc… buy good food, that will nourish your body, not the convenient junk that will kill you… self care is of the utmost importance… the money you save not buying crap, put to “self care”, you are important enough to do so, so you can be around for those u love and those who love you!!!

    1. I love this! Last year, we started the “experiences, not stuff” mindset with out 6 and 7 year olds. It has greatly changed our quality of life. $40 out at the ballpark rather than a $40 Lego set that they only want to put together ONCE has made life more enjoyable and better family memories. Thank you for sharing.

  8. People call this a midlife crisis, but honestly, I think it is an awakening that happens that allows us to live our God given lifetime out in ways that show him how much we have appreciated his blessings to us. Turning 43 and feeling the exact same way, despite a lifetime of being frugal like you. God bless ❤

  9. Yes, I agree
I grew up in a low income household. My mother raised four girl all on her own. That mentality of I can not spend that much money on that because I need it for something else. Is still with me. Now I am a mother to a handsome little boy. I can see it still affecting me to this day. I buy for him but not for myself. I need this, I don’t get it because he needs that. It is so sad; I must work on that. I am important too. I also need to put myself first, because I can not give water with an empty cup.
    Thank you for this video.

  10. I’m glad your talking about this. I thought I was the only nutcase thinking of it. I’m done with the frugal single mom thing. Kid is older money is better and I’m doing things I want for a change guilt free! Just booked a trip to Alaska God has graced me and I plan to move in that grace.

  11. I am in total agreement with you. It is so hard to be frugal these days. Everything is sky high and we have to adjust the budgets to try and make ends meet; not only for families, but for single people like me who cannot get roommates to pitch in for toilet paper! (Yeah, that’s my world) I have decided, if I don’t need it, I don’t buy it.
