Second, he informs his other half she "should not feel a certain method." Dr. Joe Beam asks this caller to think about how these phrases might make his partner feel like she's incorrect, and that he does not comprehend her.

Dr. Joe Beam advises this caller to listen. Even if he believes his is wrong, she still requires to feel heard. That is, if this caller truly wants to open up with his better half, she needs to understand he's really hearing what she feels.

If individuals do not feel comprehended, and can't protect themselves, they can start to pull further away. So if you remain in this scenario and want your partner to come back, a good skill is to LISTEN to your spouse, attempting to UNDERSTAND how your spouse feels.
